I graduated from Yale University in May with a B.S. in chemistry. I have come home for the summer and would like to put my skills and education to good use while I'm here by helping others learn what I have. I tutored extensively when I was in high school in multiple subjects including Latin, chemistry, and and math, from algebra 1 up through calculus. While at Yale, I was awarded the Donald Annis prize for the best academic record in courses in English and German. I spent a summer in Berlin and still keep in touch with some of the friends I made there. Outside of the classroom, I was involved in a program that sends Yale students to tutor in local public schools, and through this program I gained experience working with all age groups (K-12), primarily in math and science. During my time with this program, I learned that more important than any academic knowledge or expertise is the ability to form a personal connection with students that allows for patience and understanding from both parties.
